MARMELODIAN: Music
Hidey Hole
This is another little diddy that ran through my mind while I was walking my dog. I probably would not have done anything with it, but my husband heard me humming it in the kitchen when I came in and said, "That's a good one." I've learned to listen to Bob. He's usually right. So, I decided it was a keeper and recorded it. I discovered after I recorded it that it was one of my favorites.
Hidey Hole
If I had a hidey hole
I'd crawl inside just like a mole
Lay me down and go to sleep
In my hidey hole so deep
Pray the Lord my soul to keep
I have seen and heard enough
Of hurricanes, earthquakes and floods
War and hate, despair and drugs
If I die before I wake
Pray the Lord my soul to take
Hidey hole might be a grave
That's okay for goodness sake
In the arms of Mother Earth
Dust to dust and dirt to dirt
Repeat 1st two stanzas
If I had a hidey hole
Wish I had a hidey hole
